TIMBER AND TIMBER PRODUCTS REGULATION EU EXIT & AMENDMENTS 2020
Ensuring Compliance
Due Diligence is a prerequisite for timber products being placed on the UK market.
Whilst the EU Timber Regulation covers timber products being placed on the EU market for the first time.

If you are importing timber products into the UK and EU markets legislation will apply to you.
Exporters from the UK will need to comply with the EU Timber Regulation.
​
Only 12%* of UK Timber Importers were previously subject to EUTR Due Diligence.
Since 1st January 2021 the definition of 'Operator' and the accompanying due diligence has been extended to all businesses that are first placers of timber and timber products on the UK market.
​
Up to 87%* of UK timber imports come from the EU.
Many newly classified businesses will have become 'Operators' under the UK Legislation.
Companies may not be fully aware of their obligation.
